Opened on 15 September 2018. The V&A Dundee is the first design museum in Scotland and the first Victoria and Albert Museum outside of London. The V&A Dundee is also the first building in the United Kingdom designed by the acclaimed Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. East Coast Controls installed the building energy management system throughout the complex. The system fully integrated the HVAC, air source and ground source heat pumps and natural ventilation systems.
In 2020, East Coast Controls returned to assist the client with covid mitigation modifications to the buildings ventilations and controls systems. Carbon dioxide sensors were installed in public areas with ventilation strategies adjusted to ensure adequate ventilation is being provided when necessary.
